Thanksgiving Day

Today Windsor Palace is thankful for bright bay windows, the motivation to clean, men who pour the wine and do other manly things (including taking out the trash and not including any cooking), lavender Lysol, turkeys that decided to stay frozen too long, roommates who have confidence in the kitchen, parents with last minute cooking advice, turkey carvers, and slightly happy larynx's.

The Luxury of Lattes

I love lattes. But only perfect lattes. And the perfection of a cafe's latte upon first sip is indicative of whether I will return and bless that cafe with my company again. Thus I am endlessly searching for the perfect latte. Unfortunately I have had to put this extensive research on hold as I have been thrown into something of a real world where an individual, such as myself, cannot afford the luxury of lattes. This situation, although dire, is acceptable for the moment with the replacement of “strong, black, not dunkin’ donuts, coffee”. Occasionally cream is justified. For now I can survive and judge a cafe based on the blend of coffee they serve; and I’ve found it is actually rather nice when your luxury is a latte...

Improved thoughts to come ...

May came home with a smooth round stone
as small as a world and as large as alone.
For whatever we lose (like a you or a me)
it's always ourselves we find in the sea.
